What is a cardboard floor protection and what do I use it for?

But what is a cardboard?

Cardboard, or also called plasterboard, is a sturdy cardboard roll that has a waterproof PE coating on both sides. The coating ensures that the cardboard can take a beating and will not be broken when damp or wet.

What can you use a cardboard for?

You can use a cardboard floor protection to cover a floor with this plasterboard. The floor will be well protected from that:

  • Fluids;
  • Damages;
  • Dirt;
  • Dirt.

For example, consider work that involves scaffolding or stairs inside. These can stand on the stucloper without causing damage to the floor. You can also drop a dried piece of plaster or a blob of paint on the stucco runner during the plastering or painting of a wall or ceiling.

What else do you need to pay attention to with cardboard floor protection?

In most cases, you can cover all types of floors with stucco. However, there are a few things you need to pay attention to.

When covering with cardboard, pay attention to the following points:

  • Do not use cardboard on newly laid floors
  • Do not use cardboard in damp rooms
  • Do not get cardboard wet for long periods.

Do not place cardboard floor protection on newly laid floors. Plasterboard is not a breathable material and can cause discoloration in newly installed floors. Floors of natural stone, wood and other newly laid floors must first be allowed to dry properly. Plastic sheeting will affect this drying process and will not give a good result. For these floors we advise you to use our Multi Cover/Perfect Cover Breathable drape.

When you use cardboard in damp rooms such as a bathroom, toilet or basement, it is possible that the material absorbs moisture. The cardboard will then become softer and it will tear more easily if it is walked on frequently. So use cardboard as little as possible in damp rooms.

For covering floors in a humid area you should choose our Multi Cover/Perfect Cover breathable.

Hopefully this article has given you enough information on the use and possibilities of stuclopers. But should you have any further questions about our cardboard floor protection, we will be happy to help you.
